Hazelnut Banana Toast
Shortcut to a healthier Nutella
This one is for everyone who wants homemade Nutella but doesn’t have a food processor. You know the shortcut to a healthier Nutella-style spread? Start with a ready-made 100% hazelnut tahini (make sure the only ingredient is hazelnuts). Simply mix it with unsweetened raw cocoa powder, and voilà – you have a creamy, naturally rich chocolate spread made with wholesome ingredients.

The Recipe:
Servings: 1 | Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
For the Hazelnut Chocolate Spread:
- 2 tbsp (30 g) 100% hazelnut tahini
- 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp maple syrup (or to taste)
- 1-2 tbsp water
For the Toast:
- 1 slice whole-grain or sourdough bread
- ½ banana, sliced
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the hazelnut tahini, cocoa powder, and maple syrup until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water (about 1–2 tsp) until it reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency.
- Toast the bread to your preferred level of crispness.
- Spread the hazelnut chocolate mixture evenly over the toast.
- Top with fresh banana slices.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
